ABOUT POINT BORO FIRE

The Point Pleasant Fire Department serves the Borough of Point Pleasant, situated in northern Ocean County, New Jersey. The Borough is divided by the Point Pleasant Canal (of the Intercoastal waterway) and as such, the department operates two fire stations: Station 75, east of the canal, and Station 75-1 west of the canal. Currently, the Fire Department operates 4-Engines, 1- 100′ Tower Ladder, 1- Rescue, 1-Water Rescue, 3- Chief’s Vehicles, 1-24′ Zodiac RHIB, 2-flat bottom boats with jet drives 1 with a 500gpm pump, 1-Decon trailer, and 1 fire prevention material trailer.

Ocean County Station 75 was organized in 2010 when members of Fire Company #1 (Station 40 and Fire Company #2 Station 41 voted to merge into one department. Fire Company # 1 (Station 40) was organized in 1920. Fire Company # 2 (Station 41) was organized in 1954. The first Fire Chief of the new merger was Daniel Mulligan. Station 75 houses Engine 7551, Squad 7511, Ladder 7505, Utility 7514, Flat Bottoms 7536 and 7546, and Decon Trailer 7547. Station 75-1 houses Engine 7561, Engine 7501, Rescue 7503, and Water Rescue 7506. The Fire Department runs between 300 – 400 calls a year.
